Logo Design Trends in 2022

We have an entire year ahead of us which means we have a year for innovation and bolder designs. While in the past year we saw a lot of constrictions in logos, by moving further into the decade we have some logo design trends that can be expected from various logo design companies in India.

1. Retro Rubber Hose Logos

We have seen a lot of rubber hose imageries. But if anyone who has played Cuphead or Bendy, or even watched the amazing cartoon production from the 1920s and 1930s, then you are familiar with this kind of animation. We expect it to bounce back in 2022. So be prepared for a lot of retro rubber hose logos.

It could be because of a resurgence of the century-old rubber hose aesthetic. It could also be the fact that this style allows a lot of personalization. They are more human and hence character logos would be the way to go about it. If one chooses a retro rubber hose for logo designing, then the designer can make use of the brand’s colour palettes and make something fun and whimsical from them.

2. Blurred logos

Designers are expected to create logos that have clear texts. But this year, be prepared to see logo designs with a lesser focus on clear texts. Instead, experiments with blur effects will be a priority. Fluidity and movement will be emphasized rather than just focusing on readability.

The blurring can be seen only on the edges of letters as it makes the rest of the body apparent. A clear version in print may also accompany a blur logo that allows readers to have a better understanding of brand identity.

3. Logos with stretched and continuous lettering

Distortion will not be limited to blurred logos. Be prepared to see a lot of distortion in logo design trends in 2022. Designers continue to experiment with stretched and continuous lettering to create a limitless and infinite look.

Whenever logos emphasize one letter either by distorting it or stretching it, the pronunciation of the logos puts stress on the letter or its sound. A brand’s primary product or service can also be embodied by distortion of letters.

4. McBling

We have come across the 2000s nostalgia and these throwbacks are here to stay.  We have seen the dubbed McBling by Evan Collins in 2006 which is an aesthetic that embraces all the stylistic features of the 2000s. To be more specific, from 2003 to 2008. High contrasts defining the highs and lows of the time like celebrity worship, obsessions with the colour pink, gothic fonts, etc. are beautifully captured by McBling logos.

Many designs are following the maximalist period of aesthetics and its period of lavish culture.

5. Scribbles and sketches

There are many routes to nostalgia. While some artists are choosing simpler logos by including the past decade’s aesthetics, some are choosing scribbling and child-like art.

So you can expect to see a lot of scribbles in 2022 where logos have a rough and incomplete look. It is very different from the cleaner designs and highly ‘produced’ logos you might have come across. But this style of designing is still very raw but sophisticated and simple.

6. Experiments with line thickness

Variety in line thickness is something that you can expect to see in a lot of logos in 2022. By doing so, designers experiment with depth and complexity. Logos with different thicknesses have a dynamic feel to them that allows further variations in the project.

In some cases, you can spot fonts that are thick or thin. Or have a variety in its weight in logical places.

7. White space with imagery

In many logos, white space or negative space is just blank. But this blank space can do a lot of things like creating a setting for the focal point of your logo or balancing the composition. A blank space can also mean openness.

In 2022, you can expect a lot of designers to communicate through the blank space in new ways.

Conclusion: Logo design companies have a lot to offer to the future of logos. By choosing Logo Design India for creating the logo for your brand, you can be assured of finding innovative designs. But make sure to communicate with the check-in order to find the best logo for your company.
